Monitor at Kontrol sa Diabetes

Kapag diabetic ka, bawal sa iyo ang kanin. Bawal din ang matatamis. Ilan lamang ito sa maling paniniwala kaugnay sa sakit na diabetes. Kahit pa diabetic ka, okay lang ang kanin. Okay lang din ang matatamis.

Pwede ang mga iyan kung alalay ka lamang dito. Katamtaman lang dapat ang dami ng kanin at tamis ang makokonsumo ng iyong katawan.

Binigyang paliwanag ang bagay na ito sa ginanap na forum kamakailan hinggil sa sakit na diabetes sa pagtutulungan sa pangunguna ni Dr. Tommy Ty-Willing ng Diabetes Philippines, Dr. Asuncion Maderazo-Anden ng National Health Promotion-Department of Health, Dr. Naoko Tajima ng Japan at iba pang mga doktor.

Ang diabetes ay isang pangmatagalang sakit na tumataas kapag ang pancreas o lapay ay hindi nakakapag prodyus ng sapat na insulin, o kung ang katawan ay hindi epektibong nakakagamit ng insulin na naipoprodyus.

Ang insulin ay isang hormone na ginagawa ng lapay na nagpapaubra sa cells upang makuha ang glucose mula sa dugo at ginagamit ito bilang enerhiya. Ang hindi pagprodyus ng insulin o maling galaw ng insulin ay hahantong sa pagtaas ng glucose levels sa dugo (hyperglycaemia). Ito’y may kaugnayan sa pangmatagalang pagsira ng katawan at pagkahina ng iba’t ibang organs at tissues.

Ang mga senyales ng pagkakaroon ng diabetes ay madalas na pag-ihi, sobrang uhaw, sobrang gutom, pagkabawas ng timbang, madaling mapagod, kawalang ng interes at konsentrasyon, pagsusuka at pananakit ng sikmura, pamamanhid ng kamay at paa, panlalabo ng paningin, madalas na impeksyon at matagalang paggaling ng sugat.

Tandaan na kapag may diabetes naroon ang komplikasyon tulad ng cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, nerve diasease at eye disease.

Payo ng mga doktor, hindi dapat balewalain ang sakit na ito. Mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang paninigarilyo at bawasan ang pag-inom ng alkohol.

Ipinayo rin na mag ehersisyo, at magpakonsulta sa doktor.
