You might have seen many people wearing masks in the streets to protect themselves against pollution and you probably already asked yourself, are these masks really effective against air pollution.
Face masks is a device designed to protect the wearer from inhaling harmful dusts, fumes, vapors, or gases. Face masks come in a wide range of types and sizes used by the military, private industry, and the public.
Face masks protects against pollution and the main reason is simple, masks that cover the nose and mouth these include products labeled as surgical, dental, medical procedure, isolation, and laser masks.
Face masks help stop droplets from being spread by the person wearing them. They also keep splashes or sprays from reaching the mouth and nose of the person wearing the facemask. They are not designed to protect you against breathing in very small particles. Facemasks should be used once and then thrown away in the trash.
The main reason to use face masks is filter out harmful pollutants linked to many heart and lung diseases, including asthma, and ozone, which causes sore throats, breathing difficulties and watery eyes.
Face masks were said to have the potential to protect people against the harmful effects that pollution may have on their heart. This protected them from developing any cardiovascular damage incurred due to air pollution.
