While running is one of the best forms of aerobic exercise, it’s also important for runners to take good care of their bodies and keep it injury-free. This July, Runner’s World Philippines identifies the most common running injuries and features ways to avoid and recover from them.
The feature entitled “The Big 7 Body Breakdowns” also pinpoints who are at risk of sustaining these common running injuries, determines whether or not you can run through these injuries, and reveals how you can prevent a relapse.
Staying injury-free also means taking your rest days seriously. Running coach Miguel Lopez tells Runner’s World: “Recovery days help athletes adapt to the new stresses their bodies are experiencing during their hard days.” Runner’s World gives a rundown of the types of recovery days and helps you determine which one will work best for you.
Runner’s World also gives you ways to avoid and recover from the flu, and answers the simple questions every runner may be too embarrassed to ask.
“We’re glad to have our panel of local running experts and enthusiasts, as well as Runner’s World international’s team of scientists who answered all our running queries based on technical backing and sound experience,” says editor-in-chief Marie Calica.
The July-September issue of Runner’s World magazine with ultra-triathlete Monica Torres on the cover is available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide.
